Mufti Tayyeb Choudhury

Mufti Tayyeb Choudhury is a dedicated teacher and father who began memorizing the Quran at 12, completing it by 16. He pursued advanced Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Deoband, including the Aalimiyyah, Iftaa, and the “Takmeel ul Uloom” course, equivalent to a PhD. In 2016, he moved to the U.S., serving as an imam at Masjid Rasoul Allah in Cleveland, where he and his family started an after-school maktab program.

 

After three impactful years, they relocated to Atlanta, where he has been teaching at the Islamic Institute of Atlanta for five years. Since 2021, he has also served as the Hifdh director at Alfurqan Academy. His role as a scholar, leader, and father profoundly shapes his influence on students, and his passion for their progress drives him to go above and beyond to ensure their success.

Mufti AbdulHamid Choudhury

Since an early age, Mufti Abdul Hamid’s parents made intention for sending him in the path of Allah (SWT). Alhamdulilah, their intention was accepted when he started to attend a madrassa known as Jamia Madania in Kolkata, India. There, he did hifz course under many prominent Ulama including the likes of Hadhrat Mohammed Tahir sahib (RH), Khalifa of Hadhrat Hussain Ahmed Madani sahib (RH). He completed both hifz and qari course in 1999.

 
Afterwards, desire to pursue a higher education in Islamic studies drove him to enroll into the Alim Program at Darul Uloom Deoband. He graduated in 2007. He also received a degree in English and business at the institute. He then returned to Deoband to do ifta,which he completed in 2013. To better understand the needs of the Ummah, he became a certified youth mental health analyzer in 2019. He is passionate about teaching and has been an Imam, teacher, and mentor to many.

Aalimah Nuriya Zaman

Aalimah Nuriya Zaman is a passionate educator and active community member, focused on nurturing the next generation of Muslims. Raised in Buffalo, she began memorizing the Quran at six and pursued advanced Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Al-Madania. After graduating, she taught Sunday school at Masjid Al-Iman and later taught in the Alimiyyah program at her alma mater for three years. She and her husband then moved to Cleveland, where they launched a successful after-school program. For the past five years, she has been teaching at the Islamic Institute of Atlanta and managing the female students’ section.


Al-Qasim Institute started off in her house during her maternity leave, driven by her passion to teach and nurture young kids. As a mother of three, she emphasizes compassionate guidance, inspiring both her students and the community through her dedication to teaching and service.

Aalimah Sadia Mustafa

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Aalimah Sadia’s journey in Islamic education began with the encouragement of her parents, who were committed to nurturing her spiritual growth. This led her to Buffalo, NY, where she studied at Darul Uloom Al Madania for six years, graduating in 2012. She then pursued a medical degree in Coding, which she completed in 2013.

 

In 2015, Aalimah Sadia established a Sunday School at Masjid Ibrahim in Oregon, where she recognized a growing need for women’s education and launched a women’s Islamic program to serve the community. Over the years, she has taught at numerous institutions, sharing her knowledge and passion for Islamic learning.

 

Aalimah Sadia is especially known for her ability to connect with youngsters, serving as a mentor and role model to many young girls. Her mentorship has left a lasting impact on countless lives, helping them grow in both their personal and spiritual development. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her family.

Moulana Uzair Muttaqi

Moulana Uzair Mutaqi completed his Quran memorization in 2015 at Iqra Darul Ehsan, NY, and earned his Alimiyyah degree from the Islamic Institute of Atlanta in 2023. He is the Co-Founder of Darul Ansar, an initiative dedicated to supporting new Muslims, and also serves as an instructor at the Islamic Institute of Atlanta, where he teaches traditional Islamic sciences and frequently engages with youth through events and lectures. Uzair is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance at INCEIF University while continuing his studies in Fiqh.


We are delighted to welcome Moulana Uzair to Al-Qasim Institute as the boys’ Sunday school teacher. He is a wonderful role model and a source of inspiration for young Muslim boys.
